The FedEx Custom Critical Managed Transportation (MT) Market Development Manager solicits, establishes, develops, and secures strategic accounts for MT to help achieve the operation’s Revenue and Profit growth objectives. This position has primary responsibility for generating and closing new sales leads for the FedEx Custom Critical Managed Transportation service including Supply Chain Engineering Consulting services. Secondarily, may be utilized to secure or support the growth of Freight Solutions Enterprise Accounts or other secured accounts within the accountable FedEx Transportation Management division. In securing accounts, the Market Development Manager creates the MT strategy and collaborates efforts across all business development teams and across the required FedEx operating companies. Responsible for delivering profitable opportunities that align with MT service capabilities.

Assists in developing, maintaining, and communicating an effective and comprehensive strategy for each prospective account
Maintains accurate and complete strategy and account documents to drive effective Account planning and strategy efforts
Focuses on and achieves the pre-requisite scores on Service Quality Indicators which includes but not limited to effective number of sales calls, proposals, and proposal win rate.
Maintains a strong understanding of fiscal accountability.
Effectively collaborates with other sales teams and departments.
Sells market competitive Managed Transportation and Supply Chain Engineering Consulting solutions to targeted industries.
Identifies, qualifies and secures revenue that supports and drives our business objectives and sales plan.
Maintains a thorough understanding of solution offerings and value propositions for FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Operating Companies.
What we are looking for:
8 plus years of progressive, related experience in selling supply chain, transportation 3PL, 4PL or related consultancy preferred.
4-7 years of progressive related experience in selling supply chain, transportation 3PL, 4PL or related consultancy required.
Experience with cold calling.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Results and activity driven.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated organization, time management and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate and present to C-level executives and senior management.
Ability to travel up to70%.
