Position Overview: Job Summary:

Support programs and develop new methods to reduce customers’ costs and improve services. Analyze program results and recommend and initiate/implement changes to improve cost and service. Leads customer-driven analytical projects, to include: supply chain network optimization, facility location analysis, delivery service analysis, carbon footprint analysis, inventory analysis, transportation analysis, and other ad hoc analyses as required. Act as a lead analyst for logistics projects as assigned. Responsible for corrective action response and processes changes. Measure, analyze and report third party performance. Close gap between contracted third party suppliers’ service offerings and customer requirements. Work with customer to maximize use of contracted third party suppliers. Perform logistics research in bringing new providers, services, and tools to customers. Interface with third party suppliers, client and internal departments. Select appropriate third party supplier to meet service/cost goals. Attend, participate and share information at customer-attended site meetings. Create and analyze management reports for client management and for internal needs. Facilitate and participate in process improvement teams. Document processes related problems for third party suppliers and FedEx performance evaluations and implement changes for improvement. Act as a lead analyst for logistics projects as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
Perform other duties as required.

Required Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Finance or Supply Chain related field is required for this position
A Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Finance or Supply Chain related field is preferred

The following professional certifications are preferred: APICS, CSCP/CPIM, and Six Sigma.

Required Experience:

5 to 8 years of experience in the following areas is required for this position
Experience in transportation, distribution, fulfillment or supply chain related field.
Using modeling and simulation to solve problems, demonstrated data management and analysis skills.
o knowledge of the principles of optimization and how optimization is performed using software packages.
o Understanding of simulation and the differences between optimization and simulation.
o Familiarity with planning, forecasting, transportation, inventory management, and strategic sourcing.

Preferred Experience:

2 to 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL, SSIS and SQL server DB’s or similar language preferred.
8 to 10 years of experience in the following areas is preferred:
