What you will be doing:
Provide technical expertise and strategic advice to senior and executive management on emerging trends, technologies, and risks in air transportation and airport operations.
Conduct thorough research and in-depth analysis on complex air network issues, sourcing data from both internal teams and external experts to drive key business decisions.
Lead cross-functional, high-impact projects and initiatives, collaborating with internal departments (Air Operations, IT, Hub Planning, etc.) and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.
Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex operational challenges within the air network, ensuring alignment with FedEx standards and industry regulations.
Monitor risks and opportunities in the air network, delivering actionable recommendations that support cost management, efficiency gains, and enhanced service performance.
Create and present detailed reports, business plans, and proposals to senior leadership, helping to shape corporate-level goals and long-term planning activities.
Ensure ongoing compliance with FedEx processes, aviation regulations, and industry-specific legislative requirements.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams and executive management, contributing to the development and execution of strategic goals and initiatives.
Project management:
Lead, support and coordinate the implementation of Air Network changes with local and central teams
Lead Sustainability initiatives for Europe, in alignment with worldwide sustainability strategy
What do you bring with you:
A degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
5-10 years of relevant experience in project management, engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and managing vendor relationships.
Strong planning and organizing skills, with a background in process development and continuous improvement. Experience in conducting research, data analysis, and applying technical solutions to complex challenges.
Expertise in managing high-impact, cross-functional projects, with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence diverse teams. Experience in long-term planning and organizing work over mid-term periods (up to a quarter).
Experience in managing vendor relationships, including interacting with external suppliers and consultants.
Regular interaction with first-line management, senior management, directors, and executives (VP level and above), with strong presentation and influencing skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable knowledge or certifications in project management, systems engineering, or related fields are a plus.
