Business & Technical Knowledge - Develops an expert knowledge of current and emerging methodologies, technologies and standards related to required aspects of applications and application architecture used within the FedEx EMEA (regional and corporate). Maintains a good understanding of the key functions/companies within the FedEx business and how these inter-relate to deliver the business goals. Uses structured processes to share knowledge with relevant areas. Includes coaching less experienced peers.
Financial ROI - Supports IT management in effectively planning and controlling costs and in optimising return on investment. Includes correct identification and evaluation of high level resources, development of financial justifications, and evaluation and verification of high value invoices.
Tactical planning - Participates in the development of effective functional and/or departmental strategies, tactics and plans. Includes determination of the content of the applications portfolio, high level architecture, service level agreements etc.
Recommending direction - Focuses on leading the most complex/high impact research projects to identify and evaluate developments and trends within FedEx or the global business environment (changing development environment, service-oriented architecture, package tracking technology etc). Develops and presents recommendations to executive/senior management that include impact on the business and current IT, ROI, life-span of solution.
Standards & processes - Leads the process to translate corporate IT standards and processes into detailed implementation plans. These need to incorporate the EMEA IT and regulatory environment, the global development process and SOX requirements.
Measurement tools - Develops, recommends and creates effective metrics and innovative measurement tools to enable management to track and report progress of IT application and architecture activities and results. Complexity is increased with the need to cover in house teams and multiple vendors with different delivery models (systems, processes, structure etc).
Test Plans - Designs and develops effective test plans for the most complex integration testing.
