Infrastructure & Business Continuity (I&BC) International provides secure and reliable technology solutions, operational services and processes to enable business agility in line with our global business partner and customer’s needs.  We promote a collaborative and transparent working environment and are committed to the growth of our team.

I&BC drives the disruption, innovation and adoption of standard processes, technology and governance across all FedEx Express, enabling federated implementation of I&BC services globally.  This is closely aligned with FedEx Services.

I&BC – Transition Departmental Brief

I&BC – Design and Transition operates well defined and optimized global processes that support all strategic and tactical aspects of:
  • Application Security
  • Architecture
  • Non-production environments and tooling
  • Testing
  • Quality Governance
  • Service Management
  • DevSecOps enablement
  • Innovation
  • Alerting and monitoring
  • IT asset management

Our practices are combined with the practices of other elements of the Service Value Chain to co-create value. We are fully aligned with the goals of I&BC and an ITIL V4 principals and practice

Strategy & Architecture Team

The primary role of the Strategy and Architecture team is to ensure the IT architecture is compliant with defined enterprise reference architecture standards whilst maintaining a balance between functional value, service quality and systems management requirements to ensure stable, fit for purpose IT services for our customers.
The Strategy & Architecture Team develops and maintains the high-level designs and strategic plans for the logical and technical IT infrastructure architecture covering on-premise solutions as well as hybrid cloud deployments. The team provides technical leadership and consulting across the global IT organisation, from strategic decision making, down to the project planning level. The Strategy and Architecture team will gain organisational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans and initiate as well as participate in projects to evaluate technologies and services.

Manager IT – Strategy & Architecture


The role of manager of the Strategy and Architecture team must act primarily as an enabler to allow the SME’s within the team to fulfil the brief above as well as providing the required strategic guidance and direction to ensure the teams output is aligned to the departmental as well as corporations strategic objectives.
Key skills and strong experience are required in the following areas:

Technology - IT Infrastructure technologies covering storage and compute platforms, networking and connectivity as well as security. Specific technology areas to cover
Storage and data management technologies and capabilities on physical and virtual storage solutions as well as software defined solutions
Virtualisation solutions managing virtual machines hosting enterprise workload
Hyper-converged technology platforms
Network and communications services such as WAN, LAN technologies in both physical as well as software defined solutions
Cloud based technologies and hosting solutions where used in a hybrid or full cloud deployment pattern, utilising IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services
Cloud development and management processes, designing for and utilising CICD pipeline deployment technologies as well as automation driven management and alerting practices to ensure consistency in quality and deliverables as well as increasing speed to value for our customers

Architecture - Architectural practices and methodologies to help shape organisation strategies and ensure that short and mid term projects are in alignment

Communications - Extensive senior stake holder management and communication / presentation abilities to achieve buy in and approval for strategic projects and initiatives across all levels and regions of the global organisation

Service – Experience of working with large IT managed service providers to deliver IT services to the organisation, ensuring proposals and designs from the providers meet key business functional and non-functional needs and align to the enterprise strategy

Business – Relate IT objectives and strategies to business needs to ensure value propositions are of direct benefit to the organisation whilst keeping the focus on increasing speed to value and maintaining quality

Maintains an awareness of developments in the industry.
Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement. Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
