Positie samenvatting:

Job Purpose:
As an (Associate) Industrial Engineer, you will be working for the Service Standards & Solutions team, which is part of the European Central Planning & Engineering function. Within this group this role is aimed specifically within the Business Analytics team. Main focus will be on supporting the E-Commerce strategic initiatives with providing data insights and developing and maintaining the reporting framework to support our key processes and decision-making.

In this role you will be responsible for tasks around data understanding and business enablement. This reaches from data integration, data mining, predictive and prescriptive analysis to working with and influencing cross-functional teams of senior managers & professionals in order to achieve optimal results for the business.

Key accountabilities:
Work effectively with engineers and conduct end-to-end analyses, from data requirement gathering, to data processing and modeling. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

Monitor key product metrics, understanding root causes of changes in metrics. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and depict the story via dashboards and reports.

Maintain existing data visualizations, data pipelines and dashboard enhancement requests.

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems to empower operational and exploratory analysis.

Automate analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL based ETL framework.

Drive underlying data systems improvement by working with key cross-functional stakeholders. Perform data quality validations to ensure data creation is as per the business needs and expectations.

Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Develops new or innovative solutions to diverse operation’s related problems by utilizing creative problem solving techniques and by leading & facilitating group problem solving initiatives. Identifies opportunities to improve operation’s planning processes and translates ideas into workable solutions for the business.
Utilizes all available sources to keep abreast of new / changing technologies & methodologies in the market place related to own area of responsibility and remain current with potential changes in the business that could potentially impact Planning & Engineering. Actively shares learning with relevant peers.

Skills and Competences:

  • have a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management with 2-3 years of relevant experience;
  • strong analytical skills;
  • entrepreneurial spirit, creative mind-set and capable of assessing and evaluating risks;
  • thinks in terms of what’s possible, sees opportunities and takes a solutions-oriented approach;
  • self-starter who readily assumes responsibility;
  • must have experience working with SQL, Java, Python or R;
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools. TIBCO Spotfire experience is a plus;
  • a good understanding of both probability and statistics;
  • experience of developing & implementing measurement systems, operational processes & procedures;
  • competent in MS-PowerPoint and comfortable building presentation materials to tell a clear story;
  • ability to champion ideas and influence the organization with fact-driven recommendations;
  • strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
