Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, the Engineer I will focus on financial cost analysis, forecasting, monitoring operations, and reducing cost through process improvement. The Engineer will create and implement new tools / models to instruct and train field personnel and monitor / improve field performance and operations

Essential Functions

•Create and monitor reports to report cost trends and analysis
•Perform on-going analysis of profitability, delivery cost , on time service and trailer utilization and volume to improve profitability for the organization
•Engineer solutions to improve delivery and pick up to improve cost per parcel
•Create databases to produce output for business decisions based on financial and operational impact
•Participate on cross functional teams to ensure the continuous ongoing improvement of transportation processes and quality while reducing delivery costs
•Analyze data that will be used in the negotiation of rates and cost structures
•Develop process improvement strategies utilizing Quality Driven Management
•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

•Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or related field required.

Minimum Experience

•One (1) year of experience in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.

Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently while using prioritization and organizational skills.
