Manages Contractor Relations staff and activity within an assigned district geographic territory. Supports the understanding of and compliance with the Independent Contractor and Independent Service Provider (ICs/ISPs) models and operating agreements.
•Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity.
•Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary.
•Develops and manages the department budget; ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns.
•Provides subject matter expertise; ensures consistent interpretation, implementation and administration of the FXG IC/ISP agreements.
•Manages sourcing and selection of business entities and district temporary agency relations in conjunction with station management.
•Facilitates IC/ISP operating agreement seminars for FXG employees (e.g. AR-300, Contractor Driver Administration and Settlement (CDAS) system training) in conjunction with operations management and/or Contractor Relations Advisor(s).
•Facilitates disqualification (DQ) process; reviews and approves, if warranted, driver disqualifications.
•Performs station assessments; facilitate forums, summits and events within assigned district.
•Ensures necessary communications with ICs/ISPs are documented in timely and appropriate manner.
•Oversees and conducts investigation on issues and disputes between ICs/ISPs and FedEx Ground, including those raised in the RESOLVE process; provides guidance on complex issues and disputes for resolution.
•Ensures resolution of CDAS procedural help ticket issues completed by district staff.
•Build and maintains relationships with ICs/ISPs.
•Consults with PGH on implementation of new initiatives and program changes within Contractor Relations function.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline required. In addition to Minimum Experience, high school degree or GED and four (4) years experience in Business, Logistics, Human Resources, non-PH Operations, or related area is accepted in lieu of degree.
•Six (6) years experience required in Contractor Relations or six (6) years experience required in field operations management roles with at least one (1) of those years in a Operation’s Senior Manager, District Manager, or PGH functional manager role required.

•Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
•Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
•Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
•Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
•Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
•Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
•Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
•Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers and meet time sensitive deadlines.
•Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to small package and transportation industry preferred.
•Working knowledge of CDAS system preferred.
