Plans, develops, and directs corporate compliance programs that are designed to ensure all import, export and transport procedures are in conformance to regulatory standards and customer requirements and leads functional areas/projects.
• Guides the development, assembly and analysis of information from clearance locations in the U.S. and Canada to evaluate the legal risk in meeting regulatory and service needs. • Provides technical expertise to identify performance deficiencies and regulatory violations. • Conducts periodic and comprehensive evaluations of internal training; establishes import / export processes, and physical locations to ensure proper control and disposition of merchandise based on all international regulatory agencies’ requirements; recommends corrective actions when needed. • Ensures all carrier clearance and regulatory procedures are responsive to the enforcement of customs, immigration, and other regulatory agency laws. • Performs compliance trend analyses and makes recommendations for further action regarding short and long term business and compliance objectives. • Maintains and develops understanding of changes in legal, government and regulatory environment, and assists FedEx Ground (FXG) attorneys in promoting company awareness of and compliance with such changes. • Communicates assessment results and required remediation for issues identified during assessments. • Supports international shipment projects including, but not limited to, retail and electronic trade documents for FXG.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field required; in addition to Minimum Experience, high school diploma or GED and four (4) years experience in Regulatory Compliance or related area is accepted in lieu of degree.
• Three (3) years experience required in Regulatory Compliance, auditing, finance, or related area.

• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information. • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals. • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs. • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions. • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to FXG systems and international operations at the origins and gateways.
