Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Manage and direct the daily tasks of FedEx Freight Offshore including Offshore Operations, gateway performance, Full Container Load (FCL) coordination, Offshore Vendor Invoice processing and ocean transportation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Select, educate, develop and lead employees in Offshore Operations including performance evaluations, one-on-ones, coaching and employee engagement
2. Responsible for recruitment, selection and performance of agents operating on behalf of FedEx Freight to ensure compliance with all company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations involving ocean shipments
3. Direct daily task assignment and workload of our Offshore Operations groups protecting product integrity and end-to-end visibility of Offshore shipments
4. Develop and manage the operational relationships between FedEx Freight and Offshore agents providing service for FedEx ensuring compliance to performance measures
5. Identify and communicate with International Leadership on all system, service enhancements, product development and gateway maintenance needs related to Off-shore markets
6. Manage and develop relationships between FedEx and Ocean carriers for the off shore markets (Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska and U.S. Virgin Islands)
7. Interact with all levels of management to ensure compliance to company policy in all transportation and operations activities
8. Coordinate with Offshore gateway locations for education, performance, staffing needs and efficiency improvement plans
9. Assist in the development of policies and procedures to facilitate company goals in Offshore markets
10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
11. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience plus seven (7) years transportation industry related operations experience in which three (3) years must be in a management capacity
Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations
Ocean transportation experience including knowledge of proper ocean container loading processes
Thorough understanding of LTL/LCL/FCL operations; including, how systems may be used in operations planning, staffing and execution
Proficient in operating systems supporting Offshore markets
High initiative and leadership ability
Strong decision making and conflict resolution skills
Solid time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills

Must be able to travel

Must maintain a valid passport
