Job Description

To plan, organize, direct, and manage team/efforts responsible for administering strategic planning program and associated performance measurement system(s), improving performance through application of process improvement, and providing timely quantitative analysis of data and reporting/tool development to facilitate performance improvement and leadership decision support

1. Select, lead, educate, develop and motivate a staff of employees
2. Lead, development, and administration of strategic planning program and the associated tracking and performance measurement systems (Balanced Scorecard and PSP Compass)
3. Lead annual strategy program assessment and performance measurement system assessments and associated goal setting requirements
4. Manage appropriate reporting and communication on Strategic Objectives to ensure key initiatives are fully supported through tactical plans and business operations
5. Ensure performance measurement systems are appropriately aligned to strategic objectives/initiatives
6. Collaborate with other functions and disciplines in order to provide appropriate statistical analysis of performance measurement systems to continuously identify process improvement opportunities
7. Support strategic projects and corporate initiatives as assigned ensuring objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters
8. Responsible for vision, future direction, development and administration of the Quality Driven Management (QDM) program to ensure the program is embedded and appropriately sustained
9. Manage QDM Communication and Education through appropriate functions (HR, Communications, and People Development)
10. Build and maintain solid relationships with management and business process owners throughout Freight and the FedEx enterprise
11. Compile information from various functional areas to provide periodic performance reports and updates
12. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
13. Perform other duties as required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Research, Math / Statistics, or equivalent work experience plus seven (7) years’ experience in quantitative / analytic business, operations leadership, or continuous process improvement with experience in transportation preferred
• Previous experience in analytics / statistics preferred (Certifications such as QDM Expert, Six Sigma, etc. will be considered)
• Experience applying quality or process improvement techniques in a transaction-intensive service industry, preferred
• In depth knowledge of the transportation industry with knowledge of FedEx systems and processes preferred
• Project Management (PM) skills with knowledge of (PM) processes and techniques
• Strong analytical, problem solving, training, and leadership skills
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills with ability to multi-task
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint) with a preference for capabilities with statistical software and reporting interfaces such as SAS, Minitab, and Business Objects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) with ability to present to diverse levels of employees including Executive Leadership
