Position Overview:

Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to lead FedEx Custom Critical (FCC) in the development of our strategic outlook, forecast, budget and business decisions (including new services and capital expenditures).

Drives strategic financial planning, facilitates process improvement, influences change and fosters accountability to ensure that goals and objectives of the company are accomplished. Recommends and develops for management forecasts and analyses (customer, business, and financial). Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding all major projects and expenditures which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position in the marketplace while enhancing profitability. Ensures data and outputs are accurate and meaningful.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Plays key role, and frequently leads large scope cross-departmental or cross-opco projects.

· Calculates, reports, and designs metrics that measure and drive company performance.

· Designs reports that are accurate, consistent, and clear (strong attention to detail).

· Ensures data integrity in all reporting, analysis, and database design (i.e. Hyperion, Encore, Oracle Cloud and PeopleSoft).

· Mentors lower level data and business analysts regarding all aspects of the job. Educates and provides technical expertise and guidance to all team members regarding analytics, business knowledge, and project management.

· May have specific focus for analytics and strategic planning for a particular business department.

· Provides analysis of industry (i.e. ROIC), customer, and competitor situations in the markets of interest to FCC.

· Analyzes business trends, draws conclusions independently, and recommends potential courses of action based on analysis. Creates and gives presentations.

· Uses financial and operating data to measure, analyze, and project profit and loss, cash flow, risks, and benefits. Executes and conducts customer profitability analysis. Presents findings and recommendations to FedEx leadership.

· Leads post-audit evaluations to determine successes / failures of projects, identify lessons learned, focus resources in the most productive area, and apply knowledge toward future initiatives. Recommends next steps.

· Forecasts revenue, operating profit, and other business metrics. Prepares, communicates, coordinates development, and leads company efforts in business plans, including strategic outlook and annual budget.

· Applies business, technical, and operational expertise to drive process improvements through applications, business practices, performance measurement, and reporting.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

· Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

· Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, or other analytical discipline

· Preferred certification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM)

Required Experience

· At least 8 years of experience in business analysis (Financial Planning and, Operations.) Up to two years of experience above can be substituted with an MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or CFM (one each, to a maximum of two).

· 2 years Transportation Industry preferred

· Experience with Hyperion or Oracle (peoplesoft) preferred

· Strong project management skills required.

· Broad knowledge of overall business practices and procedures.
