Job Description

Responsible for performing various administrative HR/Payroll functions as well as providing support to the HR/Payroll team.

1. Maintain accurate employee files and accurately administer employee data in HRIS systems
2. Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc HR reports
3. Support recruitment in absence of the Talent & Culture Administrator
4. Preparation of new hire paperwork and registration of benefits
5. Assist with the administration of salaried and hourly payrolls
6. Work closely with HR Generalist and HR Advisors to assist with projects
7. Administration of the employee benefit plan, including fielding employee questions, maintaining employer benefit site and providing benefit packages to all eligible employees
8. Respond to employee inquiries
9. Work closely with FedEx Freight L&D to maintain accurate education files for all employees and to coordinate the Tuition Assistance program
10. Participate in the execution of the annual Employee Survey, MBO and PMP programs
11. Administer the employee service awards program and Bravo Zulu program
12. Process invoices for HR department
13. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
14. Perform other duties as required

• High school diploma, required
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field
• Two (2) years human resources experience preferred
• Human Resources designation preferred
• Bi-Lingual (English/French) preferred
• Basic understanding of current federal labour and employment laws preferred
• Above average computer literacy
• Experience with ATS, HRIS and Timekeeping systems preferred (i.e. Ceridian HR/Payroll system, PeopleSoft, Kronos, Workday)
• Ability to be creative, problem solve and work under minimal supervision
• Possess sensitivity and tact in dealing with employees and management
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize effectively and work on multiple tasks effectively
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion

• Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States
• Hours may vary due to operational needs
