This Position is a FedEx Forward Depots Posting Supervises the daily SCM operation activities to ensure all FFD and client established contract requirement objectives and expectations are met. Works closely with other employees to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operation objectives are being met. Prioritizes staff workload as necessary to create an effective and efficient work environment. Makes recommendations to the FFD management team to increase operational effectiveness and improve customer satisfaction. Generates operation reports and metrics used in assessing effectiveness and efficiencies of the business unit. Ensures safe and legal handling of regulated materials for all inbound and outbound shipments; including proper separation, palletizing, loading and storage. Responsible for supervising a team of 5-15 non-exempt employees, plus temporaries. Responsible for communicating daily shift activity to Operations Manager; assisting with personnel relations, team building, training, and the performance review process. Accountable for application of FFD policies, procedures, safety and good housekeeping within FFD and client guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstrated understanding of Warehousing/Distribution systems and procedures.
  • Ability to supervise a group of 5-15 direct reports.
  • Knowledgeable of FFD work rules and HR procedures.
  • Ability to learn and understand operation processes supported through technology.
  • Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills (including presentations to small & large groups)
  • Knowledgeable in industry-related issues in transportation, supply chain management, warehousing/distribution and use of technology in logistics.
  • Experience in performing data and Warehousing/Distribution analysis and using software applications (SCM software, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint).
  • Experience with analytical techniques to define and solve complex problems or design solutions.
  • Systematic planning to create realistic schedules, define and prioritize goals and objectives.
  • Originate and develop new ideas and concepts in order to create unique and alternative solutions to SCM problems.
  • Good judgment and a common sense approach in decision-making even when dealing with complex problems.
  • Basic understanding of financial management fundamentals and techniques.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field + 4 years progressive, related experience in a supply chain operations management or leadership role and/or warehouse management operations.
  • Associates degree in Business or related + 6 years progressive, related experience of supply chain operations management or leadership role and/or warehouse management operations.
All education must be verified and accredited by the Department of Education
