To provide expertise in the development of information systems and decision support matched to business requirements. Lead determination of key information and analysis requirements and build supporting information and decision support systems. To maintain and enhance functionality and integrity of business systems and processes to support operations, maintain continuity of services and ensure uniform compliance with regulations and/or changes and use of our systems. To support business systems development, users, and is&t in the design, prioritization, development, testing and implementation of brokerage and transportation related computer applications.
Collaborate with various departments and levels of management in designing and providing analytical capabilities via management information systems and decision support tools. Provide leadership to constructing analytical capabilities and data repositories. Monitors and controls operational activities in an effort to ensure consistent and uniform processing by developing reports and/or reporting methods, writing procedures and resolving customer and technical issues. Provide leadership to systems development, testing, controls, programs and projects utilizing best practice methodologies to ensure customer satisfaction, project timeliness and maximum effectiveness. Assesses opportunities on behalf of operations and makes recommendations on systems strategies and technology architecture relative to management information systems and decision support tools. Ensures management information systems accuracy and effectiveness by planning system access, availability, education, monitoring and integration with business processes. Serves as a liaison between it and operations, assisting both with troubleshooting and incident tickets when system functionality comes into play. Analyzes and assesses compliance with customs and other government agencies, laws, and regulations. Ensures FTN applications remain compatible and compliant with government agency requirements and/or changes. Coordinates the development and implementation of system changes with it, business users and training. Participates in cross OpCo and/or strategic development initiatives which will result in development, testing, documentation and interface changes. Monitors and maintains production system data/databases that are critical to everyday operational activities.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business, computer science, engineering or related discipline. Master's degree preferred. Seven (7) years business or systems experience which includes systems program management, matching business requirements to supporting systems requirements, software design/development, systems training, application testing, systems migration and integration, or developing business user systems requirements. Experience with either technology assessments, decision support, information business services, network design, database design and software requirements definitions preferred. Must be able to analyze business operations and develop automated solutions. Must possess strong human relations and communications skills, planning and organizing abilities. Will be expected to collaborate with system users and technical developers.
