Conducts regulatory compliance audits for domestic and international organizations by providing independent objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the organization's operation.


Executes audit program steps under the supervision of the manager, audit. Ensures that all audit and administrative assignments are completed within budgeted hours and by assigned due dates. Assists in the preparation of formal reports and presentations of audit results for management. Conducts interviews with all levels of personnel as required to complete audit assignments and attends meetings with management to discuss audit issues and develop action plans. These interviews will include upper level of management. Assists and trains other auditors and associate auditors as required. Performs audit tasks to assist external auditors and at the direction of the manager, to avoid duplication of effort, and to minimize professional fees. Acts as a liaison between management and staff to communicate issues and status of improvements in conjunction with audit projects. Participates in the development of customer/supplier alignment agreements with management to ensure that expectations are understood and to promote positive working relationships. Stays current on quality issues, tools, and techniques as they affect the company and audit projects. Will update the audit team as necessary. Use independent judgement to perform all audits including complex audits. Maintain official records for the department.

Bachelor's degree/equivalent. Three (3) yrs of related audit experience, or 6 yrs of experience in the custom's brokerage or forwarding industry. Knowledge of auditing and regulatory compliance required. Knowledge of imports, exports process including custom clearance process or international transportation. Must have strong human relations, project management, analytical and communication skills. Customs specialist certification (ccs) preferred. Frequent, extended north american and international travel.
