To hold responsibility for the administration of customs bonds and powers of attorney related to: bond and power of attorney compliance with us customs regulations; validity of power of attorney; communication and submission to and approval by us customs of bond setups; communications with the surety. Maintain related information as required in appropriate systems and databases; communicate with vendors as necessary.

Communicate with customers, explain us customs requirements pertaining to bonds and poa; ensure timely receipt of legal documents and information necessary to set-up/file a customs bond; advise customers of import bond options; assist customer in decision making on cost effective options based on need; negotiate the best rate on client's behalf for bond premium. Review customer poa documents to ensure legality/compliance form(s) and corporate certification by working with the customers or with the FTN legal department. Advise all internal departments regarding technical/ legal matters concerning the acceptability of poa and other bond matters. Prepare and transmit agent broker powers of attorney as needed. Communicate with us customs approved underwriter(s) to ensure completion of bond approvals with minimal inconvenience to customer. Communicate with us customs to ensure issues are resolved pertaining to timely filing and approval of us customs bonds and any special documentary requirements are satisfied. Monitor bond information in our system to ensure conformity with data in us customs system. Communicate with customers regarding the import bonds FTN writes and power of attorneys given to FTN, to ensure all information remains current in FTN systems and continues to meet regulatory/legal requirements. Communicate with internal departments for coordination of bond/poa setups, including all bond paperwork submitted to us customs, initial invoicing and invoicing issues, bond/poa renewal and maintenance; creation and maintenance of special instructions regarding the bond, poa, and importer of record information in customer records and databases housed in other departments. Execute and submit bond forms to customs and monitor for timely approval. Create and update duplex, pc bond and poa database files used in the preparation and transmission of customs entries, including bond and poa information provided by other FTN T&B locations. Review reports of charges incurred by customer for use of FTN T&B bond. Contact customer to fully explain the various options available to them concerning obtaining their own bond. Maintenance of web base consent database(s) and centralized mailbox to ensure all consent info is accurate and ensuring the legality of sharing internal FTN information with other FedEx operating companies. Setup and maintenance of ach/pms for customers by working with finance dept to ensure information is present and accurate; maintain all information in database(s) as needed into specified applications and database(s). Audit weekly statements to reconcile vendor billings against continuous and single transaction bond premium billings, including FTN bond charges. Assist collectors in determining the root cause for unpaid bond invoices; timely review and contact of customers for information to ensure payment of bond premium bills a timely manner.

High school diploma/GED. One (1) year of experience regularly communicating with senior level management, legal entities or government agencies. Proven verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently. In depth understanding and knowledge of the customs regulatory requirements associated with different types of legal entities and their corporate structure, customs bonds, and powers of attorney to ensure their compliance with the us customs regulations preferred. Knowledge of how bonds and powers of attorney fit into FTN t&b's business processes preferred. Knowledge of rules and procedures governing maintenance of the duplex and PC bond databases, billing records and customer records preferred. Understanding of FTN t&b internal billing application, accounting procedures and dispute tracking process preferred. Ability to utilize various windows applications and proficient on a PC workstation.
