Develops, plans, communicates, coordinates and implements activities and/or programs to deliver best practice global hr strategies and programs. Ensures maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness, compliance and adherence to overall corporate philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Achieves departmental goals by leading multiple complex programs or projects to ensure all components including computer systems, policies, processes, performance standards, training and others are identified, assigned, completed and implemented across department or division lines. Provides project task assignments, priorities, schedules and activities for program/project team members as required by the size, complexity, and urgency of each program/project. Plans project objectives; ensures communication of plans, progress, and status to all parties. Manages a comprehensive and efficient process to establish priorities for assigned programs/projects by conducting priority setting sessions and informing all parties of established priorities, ensuring fair and complete consideration of the views of all end users, development support groups and management. Performs analysis and reporting of indicators to assess performance of department processes that measure customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies, making necessary adjustments to the process to ensure the optimum benefit. Analyzes and predicts the consolidated impact to capacity and performance of the department processes by proposed and/or planned programs/projects and new methodologies. Researches, evaluates, and recommends emerging technologies, new business and management techniques, philosophies and methodologies. Works across departments, and with external agencies and consultants concerning technologies and methodologies for department programs/projects; advises as to whether project development methods will be adequate, complete, and compatible with corporate methodologies. Prepares and presents reports and briefings to various organizations and individuals including executive management and officers and directors of FedEx trade networks. Analyzes problems, issues and concerns involving policies, processes and performance requirements for programs, determines required corrective action, and performs necessary actions to resolve. Administers medical and military leaves of absence including the temporary return to work program and administration of the return to work program through the coordination of job search activities and extension of job offers in compliance with the employee's medical status. Ensures employees on LOA receive communication regarding corporate policies & benefits requirements related to the LOA program in a timely manner. Assists the local HR representative in engaging in the interactive process when employees request an accommodation consistent with the ADA and any applicable state laws. Coordinates legal review of accommodation requests. Resolves complex questions, concerns, or problems regarding medical LOA & FMLA cases, including interfacing with internal departments (legal, disability, worker's compensation) and/or external vendors. Ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations when processing terminations of employment resulting from failure to return from medical leave of absence. Analyzes metrics, reports, and trends in support of cost savings, process, and operating improvements as well as educates, trains, and updates management on LOA program and compiles information for litigation/hearings. Ensures appropriate record-keeping and maintenance of electronic case files in the LOA management system. Works with the external vendor to configure the LOA mgmt system to meet our needs. Administers the alcohol & drug-free workplace program (ADFWP) serving as a liaison to the human resource representative team in providing guidance. Secures legal review and approval where necessary.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business, human resources or other directly related discipline. Five (5) years professional experience in human resources or project/program management required. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws required. Demonstrated ability to manage pro- jects. Strong analytical, planning, problem identification and resolution skills required. Excellent human relations, customer service and communication skills (i.e., Presentation and written, listening, phone) required. Effective communication with internal and external individuals in various functional areas and at all levels of management. Ability to plan for and integrate multiple tasks concurrently as well as work independently with minimal direction. Extensive experience preparing and presenting projects (both written and verbal) is essential. Technology orientation is imperative. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel & word required. Professional accreditation (phr/sphr, shrm-cp) preferred. Ability to travel.
