To plan and manage all financial functions, including day to day operations and leadership of department initiatives to ensure efficiency and effective ness of area of assigned responsibility. This position is also responsible for design and implementation of needed operational processes to support the business and its expansion as well as lead and manage resolution of any operational or financial issues that arise. This position must ensure adequancy of internal controls and policies and procedures and ensure compliance with same in order to properly safeguard the company's assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Manages professional level accounting operations and ensures adequate oversight of the day to day processing of financial transactions in area of assigned responsibility including selecting training developing and motivating team members. Assess changing needs of company and designs and implements processes procedures and secures tools/systems to support operation and finance in an effective and efficient manner. Forecasts future needs and actively participates in budget preparation, recommends actions and alternatives to ensure department and corporate objectives are met within budgetary constraints. Works with senior management to set objectives, communicate to team members and measure and monitor performance using KPI's, SQI's performance feedback and the principles of quality driven management as appropriate. Prepares and analyzes reports to measure and monitor key result areas establish goals identify and address issues in a timely manner and report same to upper management. Evaluates risk for assigned area and designs internal controls and policies and procedures to appropriately manage risk, reevaluates at least annually. Reviews and assesses work of the department to ensure adherence to policy and procedure and to identify and act upon any issues or unexpected trends. Distributes and redistributes work as needed to develop team members and to meet the needs of operations, finance, sales, etc.
Bachelor's degree in finance, acccounting, business or related quantitative/analytical discipline. MBA or cpa preferred. Five years professional experience in acounting, audit, financial analysis, reporting, busines consulting, project management, information systmes or operations analysis required. Experience in logistics or customs brokerage preferred. Strong accounting, analytical, financial and computer skills required. Must have experience with complex business systems and high volume processing environment. Self motivated, stron attention to accurace and detail and stron interpersonal and leadership skills required.
