FedEx Trade Networks is seeking to fill Software Architect position that leads complex and critical projects ensuring the success of application rollouts across multiple domains, programs, and/or value streams. Serve as an expert resource to advise teams and effectively guide the construction, deployment, performance and ongoing evolution of a portfolio of applications. Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field. Seven (7+) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. Ability to work internationally and cross-departmentally with business partners, engineering, user experience designers, developers and product owners. Must be proactive, detail-oriented, results-oriented problem solver. Ability to balance long term goals against immediate concerns in the areas of aligning business cases to strategies, and breaking it down to program level deliverables. Leadership ability to motivate and influence SVP, VP level business partners and IT partners. Strong communication skills and ability to translate highly complex technical issues to non-technical audience. Candidates must be able to work in a team environment, possess good written and oral communications skills for presenting and documentation. Must have advanced problem-solving, multi-tasking, customer service, organizational skills. Position will require travel within the US and/or travel worldwide.   • Promotes the appropriate architecture and design principles and patterns.
  • Analyzes business needs, capabilities and requirements to develop functional/system specifications for business solutions.
  • Introduces and integrates new application development practices, techniques and technologies.
  • Identifies strategic and tactical solutions alignment and must be able to influence and negotiate with colleagues and business partners towards common goals.
  • Ensures the application of systems thinking principles, enabling the independent design, coding, testing and deployment phases of software development.
  • Documents technology and pattern selection guidance, design considerations, how-to guidance, and best practices for application development.
  • Works across diverse and international teams to drive solutions to problems with high system interdependency that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Works with data, solution, domain and enterprise architects to ensure proper integration across domains, services and systems while aligning to overall IT strategies.
  • Leads the resolution of high visibility, highly complex problems.


Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Requires Seven plus (7+) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
