Assumes project management, program management & product development roles. Under minimal supervision, provides quantitative & qualitative analysis of pricing, financial analysis, economic forecasting, competitive intelligence, market segmentation, targeted marketing initiatives, and other marketing marketing trends in support of the organization's long range global marketing strategies. Leads projects and implements key tactics that support global marketing strategies. Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in business, finance/economics, computer science, or other quantitative discipline such as an engineering Degree. Master's degree preferred. Five (5) years experience in analytical/quantitative business, operations, economics, or other quantitative discipline such as engineering. Working experience in advanced programming languages, UNIX, or RDBMS required. Strong human relations, communication and analytical skills. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.
Develops project plans, timelines and coordinates project plans with other team members with manager's guidance. As team leader of certain projects, ensures projects are complete, accurate, and on time, as well as frequently updating manager on progress of projects. Assists in creation of product development and program management roadmaps. Reviews analytical reports to help formulate market strategy. Prepares and develops analysis and reports for senior management. Incorporates senior management input at manager's guidance and seeks input at critical milestones. Develops corporate planning and analysis in terms of strategic analysis, forecasting, pricing, rate development, marketing research, product development and marketing analysis, utilizing computer modeling techniques, product development methodologies, project/program management techniques and database marketing tools and approaches. Provides quantitative and qualitative analysis of industry, customer, and competitor situations in terms of revenue and volume impact analyses (e.g., new international flight schedules, pricing changes, customer value analysis, competitive actions, customer segmentation and/or marketing promotion). Develops advanced statistical reports to track, analyze, and forecast FedEx volumes and revenues and economic impact by customer group/product/country, etc. Develops and manages decision support systems for these reports in appropriate and advanced computer languages, RDBMS, or OLAP tools (e.g., SAS, C, SQL, or CPLEX). Trains lower level analysts and/or users as necessary to enable them to utilize the systems described above. Provides complex financial analysis with a strong understanding of finance principles.
