Provides innovative and replicable freight forwarding/brokerage professional services in support of FedEx Trade Networks, and will create value through enhanced FedEx core services revenue and margins. This will be accomplished through interface with management and professionals within FTN and with others in all oPCo's and with customers. It includes the development of business models, operating scenarios, plans, procedures, processes, etc. Designed to increase revenue, enhance customer service/satisfaction and reduce costs.
Consults with customers on processes and procedures, and how they interface with FTN in such vital areas as operations, new services and products, and procedures, resulting in additional revenue. Organizes and manages project teams with cross-functional expertise in order to develop innovative concepts and convert these concepts into savings for FedEx and our customer. Creates implementation plans for key FTN corporate-level projects in order to establish cross-functional workflow priorities and manage the start, finish, and duration dates of these tasks through the project stages. Develops and documents FTN brokerage/transportation processes that provide a standardized, reliable and repeatable product service offering. Additionally, analyzes process documents and develops process improvement methods and recommendations. Initiates and leads business process improvements with management and the development of best practices internal to the company. Leads the development and implementation of solution proposals for new/ existing customers that incorporate cross OpCo products and services to satisfy a new customer's business requirements, which should result in new revenue sources for FedEx Trade Networks and FedEx in general. Draws upon industry knowledge and experience to provide technical assistance to operations personnel, through workshops, ops reviews, and one-on-one sessions in such areas such as operations and contingency planning which results in enhanced customer service and performance. Project Manager for freight forwarding and customs brokerage initiatives with varied degrees of complexity. Responsible for scoping, planning and maintaining projects and progress. Plan and progress from initiation through completion.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business/logistics/supply chain management, or related field. Seven (7) years related experience in transportation/logistics/brokerage. Must have experience with MS Office, MS Project, and Visio. Strong business process, analytical, problem solving, conceptual, project management, communication, and human relations skills. Prior experience with Air/Ocean Export, FTN Systems, and Customer Service preferred. Ability to incorporate the impact of multi-operating company requirements into workable solutions. Frequent travel required.
