Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the financial management of company assets and operations; ensures financial integrity with regard to manpower usage and cost, asset management and program controls. Ensures accurate and timely recording of all company financial data in keeping with sound accounting principles. Ensures that adequate internal accounting controls exist throughout the company.
Selects, trains, develops, and motivates a staff of tHRee (3) employees. Plans and directs the preparation of short-term and long-term business plans and plan updates. Ensures that financial records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, sec regulations, and company policy. Maintains technical proficiency with regard to new accounting pronouncements. Directs the preparation of analyses and presents recommendations related to expansion and/or other service enhancements. Coordinates and directs the monthly general ledger closing process. Reviews all balance sheet account reconciliations at a minimum of once a quarter, and reviews related revenue and expense account activity monthly, and takes steps to ensure resolution of any problems. Directs and coordinates the preparation of capital requests and justifications, and presents recommendations for senior management's approval. Ensures that the general ledger system provides accurate and timely information for use by financial reporting, financial planning and control, capital planning and analysis, and other areas of the company. Introduces new subsidiaries to the general ledger system and ensures proper recording of subsidiaries financial results. Directs guesstimate reporting and comparison of actual monthly operating results with guesstimate projections. Determine accounting information needs of management and personnel in FTN subsidiaries and provides necessary information as requested. Assists outside auditors in preparation of audit work papers and variance analyses, and provides other information and analyses as requested. Performs and directs various projects required to assess the impact of new or alternative accounting treatments, or to provide specific information for decision making by senior management. Assists the FTN operating companies in the preparation and consolidation of the annual long range outlook (lro) corporate initiative for the FTN segment, providing strategic direction as communicated by the cfo and CEO.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in finance or accounting. CPA or MBA preferred. Six (6) years of professional accounting experience in a large public accounting firm or in a for-profit company, or six (6) years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning, accounting audit or operational analysis required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap). Knowledge of advanced spreadsheet applications and computer modeling. Strong basic management, human relations, communications and analytical skills.
