Product manager for north american distribution which includes support for 21 FTN dist locations, 1.2 Million sq. Feet, 350 associates/managers, and 750 plus customers. Inclusive of a deployment of a new wms system with a project span of 2 years.
Responsible for leading the project deployment replacement of an existing warehouse management system (wms) to a new IBM wms. As a project deployment lead you are responsibly for deployment preparation for 21 FTN dist locations which entails "readiness" of 1.2 Million sq feet, 6 million plus units, involving 750 FTN customers, and ensure product flow is not impacted during the transition of systems Review monthly pal for 21 distribution regions and identify specific areas of concern regarding payroll to revenue, temps labor and related expenses. Perform 90 day reviews (pricing, statement of work/assumptions, and operational activities required) for all new customers within the 21 dist facilities along with a yearly service agreement update for all active gds customers. Provide project trackers for each location visited on areas of need specific to revenues, operational efficiencies, safety/security, expenses related other and ensure closure to each specific task. Perform facility checklist audits for facilities visited and ensure compliance and closure. Ensures problems resulting from deviation in the distribution sop are identified and makes recommendations for correction, and monitors implementation of approved recommendations. Ensures safety and security compliance for all 21 us/Canada distribution locations. Serves as "subject matter expert" for the distribution product and may be called upon in the need of operational support, training, and any other operational needs. Price model ownership for ease of sales opportunities, and ensure profitability, timeliness, and competitive pricing in the market. Assists in business development activities to meet FTN growth and profitability objectives. Works closely with specific product teams to build/expand new products and ideas.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent, preferably in business. Requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in distribution, freight forwarding, domestic and international transportation industry, us customs regulations and fmc, icc, usDOT and iata regulations. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of north american and global business practices and environments, regional logistics infrastructures, foreign government regulatory requirements and indigenous providers of international cargo. Must be able to function in a multi-cultural environment, requiring an empathetic and consultative management style. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a strong mathematical and quantitative background. Domestic and international travel is required.
