Position Summary

The Corporate Security Manager is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, validation and management of corporate security and physical security programs and initiatives within their assigned region, which encompass multiple state areas and 150+ operating locations. The position conducts and documents investigations, audits and surveillance operations to protect company personnel, brand, customers, shareholders, business operations, assets and prevention of losses resulting from fraudulent activity or behavior.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the security programs that are consistent with company policies, procedures, and criminal / civil laws to protect company assets and minimize loss exposure
  • Develop, implement, and manage security awareness programs that contribute to the prevention and reduction of fraudulent losses while promoting team member safety and security through the workplace violence prevention program
  • Initiate investigations based upon the analysis of loss trends, internal reports and input from other informational sources
  • Conduct security audits & surveys to detect areas of vulnerability or violations of company policies and procedures
  • Assist field operations in developing specific action plans that will result in a desired level of center operational and cash control compliance, conformity with established physical security measures and protection measures, and maintenance of a safe and secure work environment
  • Develop and provide security reports and other documents designed to familiarize regional leadership teams with the on-going security/loss prevention activities and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain face-to-face working relationships with the business operations & Human Resource (HR) teams (Managing Directors, District and Center Managers - HR Managers and specialists) within assigned geographical area of responsibility
  • Consult and coordinate efforts with Legal, Human Resources, FedEx Services Internal Audit and other FedEx Office department personnel, vendors and outside regulatory and law enforcement agencies as required
  • Recover fraud associated losses through the coordination of voluntarily repayment action or pursuit of the company's third-party administered restitution and civil demand programs
  • Manage assigned operational budget in accordance with compliance parameters
  • All other duties as needed or required

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of investigative experience
  • Experience in multi-site Security (Loss Prevention) environment where duties were focused on investigation of fraudulent activities, Security audits and development of security / loss prevention awareness programs & presentations
  • Formal investigative and interview training (Reid / Wicklander & Zulawski or similar instruction / training in the investigative interview process)
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting point of sale systems, computer based databases, financial reports and legal documents

  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, law enforcement, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
  • Knowledge and experience with security system (burglary, duress and CCTV) installations and operation
  • For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
  • For current FedEx Office team members, must have received a Satisfactory or above on last performance appraisal

  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position
