Description

Manage and optimize mission-critical Edge Computing IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration, security, and business continuity across data centers (DCs), colocation facilities (COLOs), and edge locations. This role is pivotal in maintaining system integrity, supporting future growth, and minimizing operational risks.

Key Responsibilities:


IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Engineer and drive the optimization of server, network, and edge computing environments to ensure scalability and reliability, supporting business goals and future growth.
  • Spearhead efforts to standardize and manage Linux images across diverse environments, working in collaboration with Platinum Partners to ensure seamless deployment, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, product, and business teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enable efficient and secure code deployment across a range of complex environments.


Security & Compliance:

  • Lead the design and implementation of proactive security measures, including patch management, firewall configurations, and system updates, ensuring the infrastructure’s resilience against cyber threats.
  • Drive adherence to industry-leading security frameworks and compliance regulations, ensuring the business meets all required standards and mitigating risks associated with system vulnerabilities and regulatory non-compliance.
  • Champion risk management by identifying, assessing, and implementing solutions to proactively reduce security threats and maintain data integrity.


Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery:

  • Maintain critical business applications and backup strategies.
  • Develop and execute disaster recovery protocols to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot issues across a mix of proprietary and standard communication protocols (e.g., EnDr, TCP/IP).


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Troubleshooting:

  • Work closely with IT, Operational Technology (OT), Network Engineering (NetEng), and Application Development (AppDev) teams.
  • Conduct in-depth technical forensics to resolve system and network issues.
  • Provide timely support for system maintenance, upgrades, and new technology implementations.


Automation & Scalability:

  • Develop and implement automation to streamline system maintenance and deployment tasks.
  • Create scripts and tools to efficiently manage and deploy configurations across multiple sites, nodes, and clusters.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, enhancing operational efficiency and scalability.


Modernization, Simplification and Growth:

  • Support the adoption of new technologies and IT solutions.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for future projects without compromising current system performance.
  • Act as a technical leader, driving best practices and knowledge sharing
     

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years in IT systems engineering, infrastructure management, or a related field.


Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Linux administration, network configurations, edge computing, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with Vrops, PowerCLI, Python, govc, VECP, Linux, Concourse, Vault, Scripting, Ansible, Terraform

Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience working across IT and business teams.

Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as VCP-DCV, PCAP, RHCE, Azure certifications.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience

Three to four (3-4) years’ work experience in Platform Engineering or related field. Familiarity with conducting end-to end analyses, including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presentations. General understanding of the industry, competitors, and evolving technologies. Experience as a member of multi-functional project teams. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $7,094.23/month - $12,533.14/month
