Job Summary:
Leads complex and critical projects  ensuring the success of  application rollouts across multiple domains, programs, and/or value streams.  Serve as an expert resource to advise teams and effectively guide the construction, deployment, performance and ongoing evolution of a portfolio of applications.  Ensures the application of systems thinking principles,enabling  the independent design, coding, testing and deployment phases of software development.  Documents technology and pattern selection guidance, design considerations, how-to guidance, and best practices for application development.  Works with enterprise level architects to ensure consistency with overall IT strategy.  Introduces and integrates new application development technologies.   Leads  the resolution of high visibility, highly complex problems.  Mentors+A15  those in less senior positions.

This role will be instrumental in Customer Service Systems IT for FedEx on a global scale. The ideal candidate will be passionate about architecture, technology and project execution. They will be decisive and have a strong sense of accountability. They will be able to rally the team around a common architectural vision, relying on and contributing to the broader FedEx Architecture team, practices and culture. They will have or will quickly build strong, trusting relationships with their peers, the development organization and the many internal customers that rely on our team. They will be able to turn architectural vision in to a tactical road map and design that can be executed by the development team. They will be experienced in delivering best-in-class, globally scalable solutions that are reliable, secure, lightning fast and easily adopted with user interfaces that are beautiful and intuitive. They will be experienced with Safe Agile methods. They will have the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical partners at all levels of the organization. They will have the ability to consider, quantify and justify technical, architectural and business trade-offs. Other skills considered a plus – Demonstrated understanding, commitment and execution of Renewal Technical Tenets. Demonstrated and recent technical experience including java, CI/CD, TDD, Service Oriented and Cloud Native Architecture, API First Methodology, modern web development, TOGAF, Business and Domain Object modeling concepts.

Domicile: Collierville, TN (suburbs of Memphis, TN)
Relocation assistance may be available for this position, but is based on business decision.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Seven (7) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.    Recognized leadership skills , working collaboratively and creatively with business and IT stakeholders.  Proven experience creating architecture models and implementation methodologies. Strong human relations and communication skills.
