General Summary….

This assignment will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to the deployment, driving, sustaining and improvement of the FedEx Supply Chain Lean Operating System and other continual improvement initiatives.  Lean is FedEx Supply Chain’s continuous improvement culture that is vital to achieving operational excellence.

This position will be responsible for…..

  • Serves as the management representative of Lean / GPS
  • Responsible for successful deployment and sustained maintenance of the Lean Operating System
  • Coordinating and administering ongoing training for every aspect of Lean
  • Models proper and effective usage of all Lean Tools

    2. Schedule Attainment
    3. Gemba Walks/Gemba Calendar
    4. 5S

  • Serves as the primary contact for RCA
  • Works closely with GM, site management, and customer to analyze the operation and improve processes
  • Demonstrates success interfacing with people at all levels with various functions including the customer
  • Responsible for adherence to all GSK and FedEx Supply Chain's developed SOPs, policies and procedures in the areas of operations, housekeeping, safety, security, HR, quality, accounting, and cGMP’s.
  • FTZ - Foreign Trade Zone coordinator back up as needed.
  • Ensure effective working relationships across the site, including networking with other departments, to exchange and implement learning’s and good practices

You might be a great fit if….

  • 3-5 years  job related experience (Lean Champion)
  • Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma processes highly preferred
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, regulatory requirements for FDA and DEA; experience in a pharmaceutical environment a plus
  • Lift truck experience is an asset
  • Related experience or training in a distribution environment

    • Must be organized and detail oriented
    • Competent knowledge of computers (SAP a plus)
    • Ability to generate reports and communicate verbally and/or in written form
    • Ability to work with all departments
    • Possess basic mathematical skills
    • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check and maintain valid NC driver license
    • Actively deploys change management techniques to drive forward site projects and ensure that sustainability is achieved 
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
