General Summary….

The Project Manager II manages and oversees all aspects of a technology project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors, and contractual deliverable. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.  This position will work with multiple business units and also outside customers.

 

This position will be responsible for…..

  • Achieves project results (time, scope, and budget) through the project team.
  • Leads, multi-disciplined IT team in the delivery of technology for new business start-ups and other projects.
  • Assembles project schedule from base information and is responsible for coordinating with efforts with each functional area for development of the master project schedule (Engineering, Operations, Technical Vendors, etc).
  • Leads weekly status calls with the customer and with the internal team.
  • Develops action register and drives results through the team.
  • Leads breakout sessions between functional teams to solve problems and develop options for delivery.
  • Is able to be in the details when needed and translate to Executive Summary Status.
  • Works with Project Stakeholders to ensure alignment between the organization and customer.
  • Develops and presents options in a concise manner when roadblocks are reached.
  • Able to negotiate win/win compromises while representing the best interests of the project at all times.
  • Able to multi-task across all projects assigned while maintaining an eye for detail.
  • Uses good judgment on when to escalate issues and options.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to see the overall picture.
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of the business organizations.
  • Ensures deliverables are met as defined in the project in order to achieve success.
  • Establishes resource plan, schedule, budget, risks analysis, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establishes and manages risk mitigation and issue resolution plans.
  • Track and report performance metrics, action items, issues and risks.
  • Challenge "business as usual" using a fact-based, objective mindset.
  • Prepare status reports and presentations suitable for varied audiences.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal staff to ensure effective communication with all related functional areas.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP or CAPM certification preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of IT project management experience.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile Project management desired
  • Manhattan systems experience preferred.
  • Previous experience leading project teams of 5-15 people both locally and remote
  • Ability to thrive in a leadership position, able to drive team to delivery, maintain team's focus during periods of change and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex projects.
  • Able to work under pressure; producing high quality deliverables while meeting delivery dates
  • Must be a motivated, forward thinking individual who is able to work with minimal supervision
  • Exercises good judgment and understanding of dependencies across multiple projects
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highly proficient in MS-Office suite, including MS-Project
  • Structured and organized; use a variety of project management tools to keep projects on track; advocate for best practices and identify/implement them where gaps exist.
