Sanitation

General Summary

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for providing value to our customers. This is done by maintaining a clean, sanitary warehouse and office in a manner that is consistent with the company's standards. This position is responsible for product safety, quality, legality and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment and other assigned equipment throughout the warehouse and office safely and efficiently, consistent with company quality and productivity standards.
• Follow assigned sanitation schedules, logs, procedures, and requirements.
• Properly use and understand assigned cleaning materials, chemicals, liquids, and supplies in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning and sanitation supplies and communicate reorder needs to management.
• Ensure floors and assigned work areas are maintained free of debris.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional appearance throughout assigned areas.
• Conduct all work activities in a manner that promotes a safe work environment.
• Identify and report unkempt or improperly maintained areas from previous shifts to the supervisor.
• Remove snow and perform other seasonal cleaning duties as required.
• When trained and authorized to operate a sweeper/scrubber, inspect equipment before and after use to ensure it is in proper working and cosmetic condition.
• Identify and manage waste or debris that may need to be removed or eliminated to help maintain a continuous and efficient workflow.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, sanitation concerns, and facility issues to management.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, sanitation, security, and quality.
• Support additional cleaning, sanitation, and facility maintenance activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous sanitation, janitorial, custodial, or related experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to complete assigned responsibilities and follow safety and sanitation requirements.
