Position Summary
This role applies Data Science, Operations Research and Artificial Intelligence to support Air Network Planning and operational decisions. The focus is on using, evaluating and operationalizing existing prediction and optimization models rather than developing new models from the ground up. The role will also lead, design, operate, and support AI solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities
Applied Data Science and Optimization
Apply existing predictive, forecasting, simulation and optimization models to network planning, capacity planning and operational problems.
Evaluate model outputs and assumptions, perform scenario analysis, and translate results into actionable recommendations.
Work with model developers, data engineers and business users to integrate solutions into planning workflows.
AI and GCP Enablement
Operate, monitor and support AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions in GCP.
Use GCP data and AI services, preferably BigQuery, Vertex AI and Gemini, to support integration, testing and adoption.
Identify practical AI use cases and help ensure solutions are reliable, governed and aligned with business needs.
Data Analytics and Business Enablement
Analyze complex datasets using SQL, Python, statistical methods and visualization tools.
Develop dashboards, performance measures and analytical products that support business decisions.
Communicate findings clearly and document analytical logic, assumptions and outcomes.
Project Support
Provide analytical expertise to digital transformation, process improvement and strategic Air Network initiatives.
Coordinate assigned work across teams and promote adoption through user engagement, training and support.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Utilize network planning tools, operational data, and analytical models to evaluate network performance and opportunities.
Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and performance reviews to support management decision-making.
Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives that enhance partner network planning and management capabilities.
Support development of innovative solutions that improve planning efficiency and operational visibility.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
2-5 years of practical experience in applied Data Science, Operations Research, Decision Science or advanced analytics.
Hands-on experience applying predictive or optimization models to operational or business decisions.
Strong SQL, Python, data analysis and visualization skills, with experience using Power BI, Looker, Tableau or equivalent tools.
Practical knowledge of predictive analytics, forecasting and statistical analysis.
Operations Research knowledge or hands-on experience in optimization, linear or integer programming, simulation, network optimization, scheduling or resource allocation.
Strong analytical problem-solving, business acumen and focus on practical outcomes.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Good planning, project coordination, communication and documentation skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience operating AI or machine learning solutions in GCP is strongly preferred.
Experience with GCP data and AI services, preferably BigQuery, Vertex AI, Gemini and related AI operations practices.
Experience in Logistics, aviation, transportation, supply chain or network planning is an advantage.
Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, AI agents, Databricks, Gurobi, CPLEX or OR-Tools is an advantage.
