Summary

As a FedEx Intern, you will be working on projects gaining you valuable, real-world experience in a professional environment as it relates to your field of study.

Essential Functions

Under close supervision, the successful candidate may assist with providing analytical support to drive efficiency, consistency and control throughout current business initiatives. The intern may assist with industry market research, global business intelligence, and emerging trends analysis.
The intern will analyze specific business metrics and research/analyze data, industry trends, and market information to gain insight into transportation and logistics metrics in identified industry vertical.
Present and deliver long-term solutions that will have significant impacts to the business and/or customer experience.
Participates in various networking and/or community service events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Detail

Assist in building, testing, and scaling state-of-the-art pricing recommendation engines, predictive models, and agentic solutions utilizing machine learning frameworks.
Support the research, development, and testing of AI agents and automated optimization systems that improve pricing decision-making and operational speed.
Work with large, complex datasets to perform data extraction, cleaning, mapping, and pipeline automation.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on Modern Data Stack Experience: Practical experience or academic project work utilizing Python, SQL, PySpark/Spark within Azure or GCP environments.
Cloud Native Exposure: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts. Knowledge of GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI is a plus.
Mathematical & Predictive Modeling Foundations: Strong academic coursework or background in predictive modeling, price optimization, machine learning frameworks and statistical analysis.

Minimum Education

Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Degree: Master’s degree program such as Business, Finance/Economics, Computer Science, Management, Project Management, Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Technology, Math, Marketing or other related major.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.
Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with across business units and to all levels of management.
Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

Domicile

This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
