What you’ll be working on
Are you a detail-oriented and highly organized professional with a passion for ensuring the well-being of employees? As a Workers Compensation Specialist, your expertise and empathy will allow you to play a crucial role in supporting our injured team members, ensuring the smooth and efficient resolution of claims while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. FedEx is a self-insured licensee in the ‘Comcare’ scheme, and this is a key role in our small, passionate claims management team.
- Proactively supporting our team members and managing claims, including working with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work and developing and implementing claims strategies to address these.
- Maintaining close contact with injured team members, and establishing positive, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Making decisions in accordance with legislative requirements in relation to claim liability and entitlements to benefits.
- Maintain detailed, compliant and organized records
- Work closely with colleagues and the business to ensure benefits are paid correctly in accordance with legislative requirements
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
- Analyse data to identify trends and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Health Wellness and Rehabilitation Team, HR, Legal, and Safety, with a focus on securing the best outcomes.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Experience in workers compensation claims management, ideally in the Comcare scheme.
- Excellent, positive communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong, bias-free problem-solving skills and a passion for providing high quality customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong time-management skills
- Adaptable and flexible – able to respond quickly to rapidly changing environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software
