Account Manager- LTL
Description
As a member of a sales team, the sales professional is responsible for new business development, account implementation and maintaining and deepening customer relationships within a defined geographic territory specific to LTL business.
Essential Functions:
• Develops new business by identifying potential new customers and growing revenue, conducting background research on potential customers, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing LTL solutions
• Maintains existing business by developing an understanding of the customer’s business and supply chain through research, customer interaction and collaboration with other key sales and sales support contacts
• Coordinates and collaborates with other internal teams, such as sales counterparts, operational teams and other internal partners to provide a seamless and outstanding customer experience and holistic view of the customer’s needs
• Manage and execute key success factors to meet quarterly goals
• Leverages new and existing technology tools such as internal systems, mobile devices and Microsoft Office suite
• Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree and two (2) years of business-to-business sales experience or four (4) years of LTL sales experience required or two (2) years FedEx business-to-business sales experience. Ability to travel overnight required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in transportation or Less Than Truckload (LTL) experience, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Salesforce
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills, discipline and adaptability while working in a team environment
- Mid-level negotiation skills needed to offer fair, competitive market-based pricing within parameters set by the Company
- Ability to collaborate with local operations team
