Accounts Receivable Representative- 1st Shift
Description
- The purpose of this position is to ensure timely and accurate application of cash receipts, the timely resolution of unapplied cash and overpayments, research account issues, and contact clients to obtain information and resolve payment-related account issues.
- Applies incoming U.S. & International (LAC & MEA) payments (both live checks and electronic payments) to the proper customer or corporate account to ensure accurate application and recordkeeping as needed.
- Retrieves remittance information daily from U.S. & International (L.A. & MEA) depository banks and verifies that all funds have been received. Processes adjustments, write-offs, recoveries, and refunds U.S. & International (lac & mea) to customer accounts as requested by collectors, CBR's, account management, and other company employees, verifying proper approval. Processes all credit card payments and outgoing Treasury wire transfers.
- Performs all research, applies, and refunds for the FedEx Express account.
- Monitors and resolves all misdirected payments for various FedEx OpCo's. Analyzes, researches, and reconciles unapplied cash, utilizing various systems to ensure the accuracy of the customer's account.
- Analyzes air portfolio for compliance with abandoned property policy.
- Provides remittance-related detail to internal customers for the purpose of account reconciliation, dispute resolution, collection of outstanding balances, and responding to inquiries. Utilizes technical knowledge & systems to research & resolve customer's inquiries regarding application of their funds.
- Process check by phone requests in the telecheck system.
- Records payment discrepancies in coda notes when appropriate.
- Records payment discrepancies in the dispute tracking system as required.
- Analyzes underpayments and overpayments and refers them to operations, collections, or CBR's for resolution.
- Assists FTN employees in understanding/analyzing information in the CODA financial system (i.e., browsing details and ODQ). Compiles and forwards remittance information to the image department for input into the image system.
- High school diploma/GED. One (1) year of cash application experience or one (1) year of FTN experience is required. An associate's degree will be considered in lieu of experience. Must have good computer skills and experience with Excel. Must be able to perform data entry. Must be detail-oriented and have good analytical skills.
- Associate's degree in accounting or business or four (4) years equivalent experience. One (1) year of previous credit and collection experience with a large volume customer-based company is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills. Good analysis and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Professionally persuasive and assertive.
- Ability to operate in a Windows environment, including experience with Excel and Word.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm This role variable remote, with some work from home opportunity and some in the office work, dependent on company policy. *Candidates that live in Tonawanda, NY 14150 are required.*
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: Min= $15.00- Max= $17.69.
