Administrative Assistant to Staff Director/Manager
Description
Performs high-level administrative support for a FedEx Legal Managing Director (MD) and other staff members in the Legal department. Maintains the office and/or department daily administrative operations, which includes handling situations of varying complexity that can often not be brought to the immediate attention of the MD.
Essential Functions:
- Performs clerical functions which may require knowledge of general business and office procedures including maintaining follow-up files, assembling materials for reports and using a personal computer.
- Receives and escorts visitors.
- Receives, date stamps and distributes department mail.
- Schedules appointments and maintains calendar for management and coordinates arrangements for staff meetings, business travel, seminars, etc.
- Answers and screens telephone calls.
- Processes, coordinates, and follows up with vendor accounting on bills received for payment and expense reports and relieves management of administrative duties.
- Composes emails, letters for items such as equipment repairs, unit schedules, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Three (3) years related business experience.
- Experience as a legal administrative assistant preferred.
- Experience in utilizing Microsoft applications.
- Good spelling, punctuation and basic English grammar skills.
- Familiarity with and ability to operate office equipment.
- Good human relations and communication skills.
Domicile/Work Location:
- This position will be central meaning the successful candidate will be required to work onsite at the Memphis FedEx Campus location.
