Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Leads the development and execution of holistic, enterprise-wide category management strategies, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management initiatives. Develops, executes, and manages sourcing strategies using the Company's sourcing methodology.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides strategic evaluation of category/spend information, benchmarking, and makes recommendations for sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard criteria.
Develops category expertise, category management expertise, and market contacts, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders in all aspects of sourcing.
Leads internal projects/programs.
Participates in supplier negotiations, supporting senior staff, and leadership.
Acts with authority with suppliers, business stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
- Five (5) years work experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or related field, a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.
- Excellent knowledge of project management, current technology tools/advances, and database/analytical tools.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills..

Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in Vehicles and Ground Support Equipment sourcing. Develop and execute fleet acquisition, leasing, and maintenance strategies optimizing total cost of ownership and lifecycle value. Conduct supplier evaluation and bid analysis, including spec compliance, cost benchmarking, and warranty/service review. Manage contracts, SLAs, and KPIs focused on uptime, maintenance response, and service quality.

Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Harrison, AR or Memphis, TN. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.
