Job Description: Responsible for formulating and applying sophisticated modeling and other advanced analytical methods using a computer to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Collect, cleanse, and analyze data, developing decision support software and producing actionable information for decision making. Identify business opportunities or expand ideas obtained from management in order to conceptualize, define, and model operational problems to assess feasibility and impact. Identify performance improvement opportunities via data analysis and develop decision support tools to ensure most cost conscience, ecient use of company resources that supports service objectives. Develop concepts into business plans utilizing appropriate research techniques, methodologies, and experience and present them to senior management with recommendation for implementation. Develop and implement data collection systems from primary and secondary sources and other strategies that optimize statistical eciency and data quality. Identify, analyze, interpret, and visualize trends or patterns in complex data sets. Lead the evaluation of alternative systems or transportation networks employing financial, computer, geographic or operational models as appropriate. Prepare decision analysis and reports for presentation to senior management. Research cutting edge technologies in support of the “best practices” in any transportation or network related question. Understand complex, discrete datasets with subtle underlying biases and develop analytic driven solutions to business problem. Formulate and develop methods for measuring the effectiveness of pricing and revenue quality science initiatives. Design and develop models for testing, validation and evaluation of strategic proposals. Utilize multi-media presentations and formal reports for presenting analyses to senior management. Coordinate personnel involved in project administratively and technically. Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Revenue Quality, and external vendors. Plan and execute digital product strategy, technology/product development and/or product support of LTL pricing applications. Prioritize features, manage the product backlog, and oversee the overall product development lifecycle. Maintain expertise on products and technologies through training and research and use that training to drive and/or implement best practices and foster continuous improvement. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations as well as company policies/procedures. Remote work available 2 days per week, required to appear in person at work location listed. (multiple positions)

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Math/Statistics, or related quantitative discipline plus 7 years’ experience in engineering, statistics, forecasting, or data analysis. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Math/Statistics, or related quantitative discipline plus 5 years’ experience in engineering, statistics, forecasting, or data analysis. Must have experience in each of the following skills: Proficient programming skills, including experience in at least four of the following: SAS, Ab initio, SQL, Java, or Python; Relational database systems: Oracle, DB2, and Teradata; Data visualization tools: Power BI, Spotfire, or Tableau; Services such as Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Azure; Statistical software, reporting interfaces, data mining tools, and exploratory data analysis techniques; Project Management skills using Agile, QDM, or ABLE; and Descriptive statistics and machine learning techniques. Remote work available 2 days per week, required to appear in person in Memphis, TN.
