Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Plan, organize and coordinate strategic and tactical projects utilizing application systems and hardware technology solutions that enable the FedEx Enterprise and FedEx Freight to achieve improvements in both service and financial performance. Represent FedEx Freight Operations in cross-functional and cross-operating company product, hardware and application development efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee strategic projects that support long term business recommendations and solutions
Analyze technology solutions through vendor research; collaborate cross-OpCo and cross-department for recommended long term business recommendations and solutions
Lead the research and analysis of current and trending technology
Support tactical projects utilizing existing reports/tools and develop new reports/tools that support short term business challenges
Monitor trends in Operations Performance Metric indicators, working closely with operations management and subject matter experts to recognize opportunities for modification/creation of application systems and implementation of hardware technology solutions
Provide data for FedEx enterprise and FedEx Freight initiatives to support long range planning around application systems and hardware technology solutions
Support process improvement initiatives from concept to implementation
Participate as core team member on FedEx Enterprise as well as FedEx Freight governed projects; develop, evaluate and track requirements where application systems and hardware technology solutions will be introduced that impact the FedEx Freight Operations environment
Develop reports and/or specifications that can be used to gauge performance and reliability of technology solutions
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Engineering, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years’ experience in Transportation Operations, Transportation Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering, Information Technology and/or Finance
Comprehensive knowledge of project management practices and techniques preferred (SAFe, Agile, Waterfall, Everest)
Comprehensive knowledge of a programming language (Structured Query Language (SQL), Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS), Visual Basic (VB), etc.) preferred
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proven time management and organizational skills required to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals and respond to day-to-day functional needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels throughout the organization
Good presentation skills and ability to handle multiple projects
Experience and ability to use MS Office including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
