POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for overseeing Workers’ Compensation claims across Company administered by claim service providers and drive optimal outcomes, serve as primary liaison for both internal and external stakeholders for claim related issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide oversight of Company’s Third Party Administrator (TPA) for Workers’ Compensation (WC) claims, meeting established criteria/thresholds within defined geographic area, in compliance with oversight guidelines and expectations
2. Participate in and lead WC claim strategy discussions focusing on early resolution in accordance with company settlement philosophy
3. Utilize metrics, dashboard reporting, and claim analytics to identify WC focus file claims for oversight, monitor performance, and drive continuous program improvement
4. Serve as liaison to internal and external stakeholders for WC claim specific related matters (e.g., investigation, return to work (RTW) accommodation escalations)
5. Promote litigation avoidance through employee advocacy and proactive resolution of urgent claim issues
6. Authorize WC reserves and settlements at established authority levels
7. Confirm initial and ongoing TPA reporting of workers’ compensation claims requiring excess notification, and escalate claims meeting defined criteria, as well as claim-related issues and program improvement opportunities, to the Risk Management Manager
8. Ensure WC vendors are complying with service instructions and guidelines and escalate specific issues as needed
9. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years workers’ compensation claims experience
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
• Excellent leadership, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and effectively manage changing priorities
• Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically; including presentation skills

Additional Details: While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location(s) in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR.
