Branch Manager - Cross Boarder Transportation
Description
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities, customer service excellence, business development and overall P&L results of the Branch office.
- Responsible for a staff of 5-15 employees. Responsible for financial and operational KPI results of branch
- Responsible for account management and customer relations activities in line with company standards.
- Management of day-to-day operations performed by employees of the branch
- Provides relevant management reports and information to senior management team
- Responsible for communication of Company policies, guiding principles and core values, as well as education of staff regarding these
- Responsible for hiring, training and development of employees
- Responsible for ensuring that branch compliance metrics are met in line with company standards.
- Personnel matters in accordance with Human Resources policies.
- Maintenance of the site services in accordance with Company standards regarding environment, health security and safety (EHS&S)
Qualifications:
- Experience in the Freight Forwarding / Logistics / Transportation industry required, including experience with international freight operations (Seafreight, Airfreight)
- Experience managing a diverse team of direct reports, including managers of people
- Ability to work successfully under pressure, including strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills;
- Subject matter expert in Freight Forwarding / Logistics procedures and practices
- Degree/Diploma in International Business, Trade, Logistics, or a related field preferred;
- Completion of a freight forwarding apprenticeship program is an asset
- Must be Sales oriented and have Commercial Acumen to identify opportunities to grow the business and increase profitability
- Must be Customer Oriented and create solutions to meet customer needs
- Strong leadership ability required, including experience motivating staff and driving performance improvements
- Strategic vision and ability to implement plan
- Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of air/ocean import/export freight operations
- Use of cargo wise operations system
- PC skills including MS Office applications
- Sales management skills· Customer and Account Management skills
- Thorough understanding of finance and branch/product profitability
- Ability to read a Balance Sheet and allied financial data
- Good knowledge of Excel and use of spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications: Brokerage License, Degree/Diploma in International Business, Trade, Logistics, Bilingual Spanish/ English, supervisor or above, Branch Management experience highly prefered. This location is responsible for Surface Distribution and Brokerage – No Air or Ocean expereince required. 10 years of Freight Transportation expereince in a leadership role highly prefered.
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Pay: Pay Range: $6.873.00 to $13,041.00.
