Job Description: This role is responsible for shaping business strategy, developing plans, analyzing data, and aligning goals to achieve the company’s objectives. Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and market research experience are essential. The successful candidate will develop and oversee implementation of plans to materialize the company’s strategy, conduct research and data analysis to inform business decisions, and align department goals with the overall strategy. You will also monitor industry trends, provide insights into organizational changes, and support senior executives in making effective decisions. This individual provides leadership in the evaluation of strategic objectives, formulation of strategic direction, and influences decision making based on assessment of business trends and data analytics. Plans, organizes, and develops recommendations grounded in deep understanding of the business, industry & market trends, consumer behavior, customer segments, and competitive strategy. Predicts changes in the current market and summarizes insights from proprietary and third-party data & information to create distinctive insights. Develops and implements complex business analyses, manages business case development, and business-at-risk assessments. Develops research methodologies to understand key strategic issues, identifies data sources (internal and external) and develops complex opportunity models using statistical and BI tools. Develops strategic frameworks and manages processes to build business scenarios using strategic thinking and decision science analysis. Provides a point of view on key strategic issues across major dimensions of the business – commercial, operations, customer segments, technology etc. Engages with leadership teams / key stakeholders on identified priorities supported with clear fact based recommendations and provides actionable insights to leadership teams to recommend course of action. Provides thought leadership to cross-functional teams working on strategic initiatives and acts as an internal consultant to senior management. Takes responsibilities to manage external consulting engagements with industry experts and takes on coaching and mentoring roles.


Qualifications: Master’s degree in quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of work experience in functions focused on strategy development, competitive, customer, and industry analysis, market research, analysis of product performance, and support of corporate development / strategic value assessment activities. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in in quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years of work experience in functions focused on strategy development, competitive, customer, and industry analysis, market research, analysis of product performance, and support of corporate development / strategic value assessment activities, in lieu of a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Complex quantitative analysis and model building for market sizing, through 3P data research, correlations between disparate datasets, and scenario planning; Financial analysis for business case development, using DCF modelling, ROI analysis, and other methodologies as necessary; Data synthesis married with story telling for effective executive communication, though use of tableau and POWERBI dashboards; Deep knowledge of supply chain technologies, including the use of warehouse automation tech, ecomm digital tech stack, order processing and others; Strategic thinking / critical thinking to enable complex, long-term, fact-based scenario planning, and risk assessments for large multimillion dollar initiatives; Product lifecycle (product strategy, roadmap, discovery, specifications, driving execution and product impact); Designing digital product features, and supporting product implementation using UX tools (FIGMA) for lo fi prototyping, VISIO for process flows, and JIRA/Version One for User Story management; Conducting user research, to understand/analyze industry trends and interpreting data/metrics through ethnographic studies. Demonstrated business acumen and experience of supporting strategic assessments that are transformational in nature including understanding the impact of technology trends on business. Strong communication and presentation skills, problem structuring & problem solving skills. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience in databases, Business Intelligence tools, MS Office products and data modeling. Strong human relations skills. An advanced degree may offset experience requirements. Position can telecommute from home from any location in the U.S.
