Clearance Operations Manager

We are offering an interesting position of Manager Clearance Operations in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Work location: Bratislava (Job with occasional home office)

Key responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements effective processes and controls to ensure ongoing achievement of customs regulatory compliance
  • Determines, justifies, and secures all resources (people, equipment, applications, external licenses, etc) required to support effective management of clearance (and operational processes) for immediate and longer terms
  • Develops and implements effective tactics, plans, and processes to ensure optimum utilization of resources and achievement of EMEA and local country clearance and brokerage goals
  • Manages ongoing performance due to changing requirements/priorities
  • Manages vendor performance levels  and leads negotiations with new and existing vendors
  • Identifies and influences the development of innovative and customized solutions in order to increase Customer satisfaction
  • Identifies and develops local opportunities to provide new services and participating in EMEA projects to develop full brokerage solutions
  • Directly control budget and monitor for financial exposure (duties and taxes, fines and penalties)
  • Builds effective networks relationships with key stakeholders, customs, trade and government authorities, vendors, and external bodies across the business in order to achieve optimal business outcomes
  • Leads the management team in developing and implementing effective tactics and plans to influence forthcoming changes to Customs and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the ongoing recruitment, selection, and development of Management and Professional employees performing diverse functions.
  • Develop optimum performance levels by communicating a compelling vision and purpose, translating customs regulatory, EMEA and corporate requirements into meaningful and practical local actions and targets.
  • Drives optimum profitability by using robust methods and tools to manage the budget

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Min. 3 years experience in managing a team of Clearance &Brokerage Operations
  • In-depth knowledge of current  European & local customs related regulations, legislation & practices with experience in managing regulatory compliance
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in managing large projects/process improvement
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Excellent understanding of financial controls & budgetary responsibilities with experience of managing a large project or departmental budget
  • Higher education
  • Very good level of English spoken and written
  • Good PC skills / competent in using office software packages
  • Strong  leadership skills
  • Able to operate effectively in a culturally diverse business environment
  • Excellent process management skills with experience in managing multiple processes and of ensuring best practice methods are consistently adopted
  • Excellent presentation & interpersonal skills  as well as influencing and persuasion skills
  • In-depth analytical  and problem-solving  skills 

The offer we provide:

  • Compensation starting from 2 993 – 3 741 EUR/gross per month. The final base salary offered will depend on the candidate's experience.
