The Communications Lead – Internal & Executive Communications will own the team’s internal voice and serve as a strategic communications partner to leadership. This role is responsible for executive messaging, organizational communications, leadership presentations, announcements, employee engagement content, and board-level materials. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who can synthesize complex information into concise, compelling messaging for multiple audiences.
This role will partner closely with the Communications Principal and cross-functional stakeholders across product, analytics, strategy, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute internal communications strategies aligned to DataWorks business priorities
- Draft executive communications including leadership emails, talking points, presentations, announcements, and board communications
- Translate complex technical and business concepts into clear, engaging messaging for broad audiences
- Support organizational storytelling and employee engagement initiatives
- Partner with senior leaders to develop communication plans for strategic initiatives and change management efforts
- Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and brand voice across communications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and develop communication materials
- Provide editorial review, messaging guidance, and communications support across the organization
- Support high-volume executive writing and rapid-response communications needs
- Collaborate with the Communications Principal on external context and executive-level content
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/equivalent
- Five (5) years of directly related communications experience
- Demonstrated experience in executive communications, corporate communications, or organizational communications
- Exceptional writing, editing, grammar, and presentation abilities across channels (email, briefs, narratives, etc.)
- Experience supporting senior executives and managing high-volume communication deliverables
- Ability to simplify complex technical or business topics for non-technical audiences
- Strong relationship management, organizational, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with design (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) and compelling narrative presentations
- Experience in technology, data, analytics, consulting, or innovation-driven organizations
- Experience creating communications for leadership teams and board-level audiences
- Familiarity with startup or agile work environments
Domicile:
This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories. However, if you live within the 50-mile radius of a campus, you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.
Compensation:
Annual salary range: $96,000 – $144,000, based on national market data. Starting compensation will vary depending on domicile, experience, and operational needs.
