Coordinator, Air Import
Description
To plan, organize and control air operation activities, to ensure proper control and compliance in place during various stages including input, movement, process / sort, and output of all the air operation documents, to meet high service quality requirements at minimal cost.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate shipment pre-alerts with origin office;
- Communicate with carriers for shipment arrival;
- Keep the customers updated on their shipment status;
- Declare customs permit (preferred);
- Liaise with customers to arrange delivery;
- Update key milestones in the operations system in timely and accurate manner;
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE
Academic:
- GCE ‘O’ Level and above
Experience & knowledge:
- At least two (2) years’ experience in customer service/operations in freight forwarding industry
- Extensive experience in freight forwarding industry and strong understanding of local compliance requirements;
- Knowledge of operational requirements from customers, agents and sister offices as well as financial processes among them;
- Familiar with workflow of airlines, cargo terminals, cross border trucking services and co-loaders;
- Basic accounting knowledge is required;
- Proficiency in MS Office applications;
- Fluent in English, Mandarin and local languages (to be able to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates)
