Shift: Monday through Thursday 4:00PM to 2:30AM
Pay: $19.00/hour plus $3.00 per hour shift differential
Location: Hixson Blvd. Lebanon, TN
Job summary
The Material Coordinator expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities. This role compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, oversees materials fulfillment, and ensures client expectations are met regarding scope, timeline, budget, and service requirements.
Primary responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments per schedules and priorities.
- Review production schedules and confer with supervisors to determine material requirements, track overdue materials.
- Requisition materials and establish sequential delivery dates based on job order priorities and availability.
- Examine delivered materials to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
- Compute material requirements for job orders using knowledge of product and manufacturing processes.
- Compile and maintain records such as inventory, in-process production reports, and material status/location.
- Transport materials manually or using material handling equipment as needed.
- Arrange for repair and assembly of materials or parts.
- Monitor and control movement of materials and parts on automated conveyor systems.
- Oversee materials fulfillment to ensure client expectations are met while maximizing order completion.
- Manage fulfillment processes for purchase orders of raw materials per ship date, specifications, and schedule.
- Review material specifications for accuracy (description, weight, unit of measure, lead time).
- Perform product takeoffs on strategic projects to support budgets and order accuracy.
- Collaborate with supply chain team and Master Scheduler to ensure accurate product quantities and orders.
- Assist with loading materials/products into order management software.
- Coordinate planning and execution of material orders with clients and internal project teams.
- Support materials and construction teams with accurate product/service billings, lien waivers, and insurance certificates.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Coordination: Proficiency in coordinating orders, schedules, and resolving problems with some guidance.
- Communication: Ability to interact professionally with operational and high-level customer contacts, vendors, and teams.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Decision-making: Ability to make smart decisions quickly, exercise discretion, and use judgment to solve complex issues.
- Detail orientation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Customer focus: High degree of customer focus and service orientation.
- Efficiency: Ability to analyze and adjust work procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
