Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT/PNG CDL/HME-1
Description
Operates company vehicles and provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick up of packages; to check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; Provides related customer service functions. Will begin obtaining CDL/HME upon designated start date. " Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
Minimum Experience
None. Six (6) months courier experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
Job Conditions
Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Must pass all FedEx Express & regulatory/statutory required background checks, drug screening, and security threat assessments.
FMCSA covered safety sensitive position. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must obtain valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for type of vehicle assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: Must be 21 or older and have had a valid driver's license for the previous three-year period Must obtain a CDL with Haz Mat Endorsement within 90 days to retain position.
Pay Transparency:
Pay: Hourly Range: $21.36-$33.18
Additional Details: Full Time Tue-Sat between 8am and 5pm
