Dangerous Goods Agent
Description
Ensures the safe and legal handling of dangerous goods including data/image capture, proper separation, palletizing, storing, truck loading and disposal.
Essential Functions
- Ensures safe handling of dangerous goods, including data capture, separation, palletizing, storing, truck loading, and disposal, as well as managing paperwork and responding to chemical and bloodborne pathogen spills.
- Ensures related paperwork is accurate, complete, and timely, including proper distribution to all necessary parties.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience
None.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to complete all basic and recurrence training for dangerous goods and spill clean-up, if required for function.
Able to read and understand manuals, regulations, charts and tables.
Able to effectively communicate verbally in a time-sensitive manner in a noisy operations environment.
General knowledge of computers and the ability to effectively operate warehouse computers and scanning equipment and understand how they relate to the inventory process.
Good organizational and communication skills. Detail oriented.
Job Conditions
Able to work variable shifts and weekends/holidays.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver items of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
After applicable training, ability to safely/effectively operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker, reach truck and other types of warehouse and disposal equipment.
