Data Analyst Advisor - Data Governance
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join our Decision Analytics team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing our data architecture, ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data stewardship practices, and supporting the overall data governance framework across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles, as well as hands-on experience with data quality, metadata management, and data governance processes.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, IT, and Business Analysts, to ensure that data is effectively governed and leveraged to drive strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture Support:
- Assist in the design and implementation of data architecture frameworks that support efficient data storage, access, and retrieval across multiple systems.
- Ensure that data models and schemas are aligned with organizational goals and business requirements.
- Work with data engineers to optimize the flow of data between systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy across platforms.
- Data Stewardship:
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define and manage data definitions, data quality standards, and data classifications.
- Monitor and validate data quality, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Support the creation and maintenance of data catalogs, ensuring proper documentation and metadata management.
- Ensure that data is used responsibly and consistently across the organization.
- Data Governance:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of data governance policies, including data access, data privacy, and security protocols.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and internal data governance frameworks.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance, ensuring adherence to governance guidelines.
- Engage with data owners and stakeholders to promote data governance best practices across the business.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with business leaders, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure alignment between data governance policies and business objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to data stewards, business analysts, and other stakeholders on data management best practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations on data governance, stewardship, and architecture activities for executive leadership.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to data governance, stewardship, and architecture.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data management, architecture, and governance.
Preferred skills, experiences, and key attributes:
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality metrics, and metadata management.
- Experience in data processing techniques to scrub, combine and manage data from relational and NoSQL sources
- Familiarity with data governance tool Ab Initio Metadatahub, Collibra, Purview and/or Alation
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong collaboration skills, translating business needs to analytic requirements and develop recommended approaches
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills to evaluate data and identify opportunities
- Ability to create clear communication artifacts, written and visual
- Proficiency in Power BI DAX and data modeling
- Azure database experience is preferred
- Understanding of APIs ETL/ELT processes and Agile PM methodologies is a plus
- Detail-oriented with a passion for maintaining data integrity and accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams
- Proactive and self-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or finance.
Minimum Experience
Seven (7) years of experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem-solving, operations analysis, marketing analysis, simulation development and/or predictive analytics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Superior analytical skills with diverse analytics and statistical software and applications. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Proven leadership skills.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: U.S Pay Range: $7,488.36 - $12,533.00 (Monthly)
