Provides data expertise at the business unit level. developing data architecture for significant and highly impactful initiatives allocated to one or more Agile Release Trains in partnership with business and IT stakeholders.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with external vendors to review and influence the architecture and design of their data marts, ensuring seamless integration and accessibility for internal dashboarding and analytics needs.
  • Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior team members and guiding best practices in data architecture and management.
  • Ensure comprehensive data management by addressing key concerns including:
  • Data acquisition, organization, and storage
  • Data governance, quality, and security
  • Data distribution, integration, and retention
  • Reference and master data management
  • Metadata management and analytics enablement
  • Design reusable data services to enhance efficiency, eliminate data redundancy, and accelerate delivery of analytical solutions.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards and patterns to support scalable ingestion and operationalization of advanced analytics across platforms.
  • Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to optimize the use of on-premise and cloud-based data lakes.
  • Align data and information architecture with enterprise business goals, technical roadmaps, and solution frameworks at both portfolio and solution levels.
  • Work closely with DBAs and solution architects to:
  • Lead logical data model design and transformation to implemented data structures
  • Define and implement physical data models and enforce platform and design standards
  • Develop both conceptual and detailed data models for data at rest (e.g., databases) and data in motion (e.g., APIs, message streams).
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive data lineage documentation to support traceability, compliance, and transparency across systems.

 

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Data modeling: Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
  • Data architecture design: Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
  • Database technologies: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • ETL/ELT tools and frameworks: Experience with data integration tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory)
  • Cloud platforms: Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure preferred)
  • APIs and data in motion: Knowledge of RESTful APIs, message brokers, and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka)
  • Data governance & quality frameworks: Understanding of tools and practices for data cataloging, lineage, and quality assurance (e.g., Ab Initio)

Architecture & Strategy:

  • Ability to define and enforce data standards, patterns, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, master data management (MDM), and reference data strategies
  • Skilled in documenting data flows, lineage, and system integration points

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, solution architects, and business stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and promoting knowledge sharing
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language

Analytical & Problem-Solving:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and design scalable solutions
  • Strategic mindset with ability to align data architecture with business objectives

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Planview Automart for data integration, reporting, or dashboarding
  • Familiarity with enterprise portfolio management tools, especially those in the Planview ecosystem
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Recognized leadership skills , working collaboratively and creatively with business and IT stakeholders. Proven experience creating architecture models and implementation methodologies. Strong human relations and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:  

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: US pay range: $9,208.38 - $16,575.08 monthly
